WHAT WILL A DOLLAR BUY?
What will a dollar buy? Not much; a soft drink, a bag of chips, a small candy bar. We spend our dollars with little thought of their value. While a dollar may not be worth much to us, to a hungry and starving people it can mean a matter of life and death.
In some countries a dollar can feed a family for a day. In our own city, the Charlotte Rescue Mission feeds and cares for one who has lost his/her way for two dollars a day. Some may not be giving because they feel their gift will do little good.
However, we see that is not true. Your dollar each Sunday adds up to fifty two dollars each year. If each of us gives a dollar or an extra dollar each Sunday with 170+ members, just imagine what great things will happen. Let’s celebrate Jesus’ birthday by doing just that. What better gift can we give him?
